When I have updated jooma to version 4.2.1 I got the notification "overrides to check (55)".
When I click on this notification the templates style site opens and it is shown that 55 overrides have been found in the Os-basetemplate Details and Files.

Why joomla overrides the OS template?
Do I have to do anything?

Please check folder

{your site}/templates/{ypur template}/html/

There in our template empty folder, ordinary to this folder add Joomla core files - which user wish override on self site.

Please backup these files - after remove from this folder - and check how all work

Please check:
docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Layout_Overrides_in_Joomla

Yours template "HTML" folder - not empty. Please backup it - next please clean it. And check how work your site
